The pilgrimage to Jasna Gora is your one and only chance to see The Black Madonna of Częstochowa painting, what makes it one of the greatest shrines to the Virgin Mary (or Marian shrines) in Poland since the XV century.
Although this region still awaits its revelation, the painting offers you a miracle you can see with the naked eye, i.e. the scars on her cheek which are impossible to repair, repaint etc. They are said to be a symbol of wounds and pains of Polish nation, as Mary is called the Queen of Poland. Many historians and chroniclers have written about this painting since the times of Middle Ages.
